Thanks Mantis44 for putting me under the spotlight.
Well my name is Scott and I'm 33 years old soon to be 34.
I was born in Western Australia which is where most of my family are. I ended up moving from Australia to the UK in 1979 with my Mum and younger sister and have been here ever since. After moving around the UK i have finally settled in a chaotic town called Croydon which is on the southern edge of London.
I married in 1999 and divorced in 2002, I have two great kids, Reece (6) and Lauren (5), They are the most important thing in my life and what ever time i have spare i spend with them.
I only really have two passions in life, Firstly one that i cant mention and the second diving. I have been diving now for approx 4 years and am certified as a master diver and have dived some of the most beautiful places in the world ranging from Australia, the Maldives, The Red Sea in Egypt, as well as my last adventure to the Dominican Republic. Probably not the wisest two hobbies on the list as they seem to be the most expensive ones.
I work as a Sales Executive for one of the largest paint manufacturers in the world and have been for 8 or so years now. I love driving so it seems to be a job where i get paid to do something i like, the only downside is i have to see customers as well but hey , you cant have everything in life. As much as i used to be a workaholic I had my eyes rudely opened approx two and a half years ago when i was diagnosed with testicular cancer, luckily it was diagnosed in the very early stages and dealt with, but if i could give a single piece of advice to anyone i would say that always think of your well being and health as nothing is more important.
Below is probably the best picture i have of myself, it was taken about 18 months ago, my first self portrait.

The next question is who did i pick on next......I think it has to be Gizy .....Tag Your It! -- If you cant fix it, then find something you can |

| Now I understand why we're all behind the camera....this spotlight is a little bright.
Me? I'm Michele, in 36, 37 next week, and currently living in Portland, OR, not married, no kids, no pets.
I was born in southern California, moved to Maryland in 1979, and moved back to southern California in 1985. While we lived back East, my Mom knew it was probably our only chance to see things there, so I was able to see most everything of historical value on the East Coast: Washington DC, Philadelphia, Gettysburg, Charleston, and on up to Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and down south to Florida. Now that I"m an adult, I'd like to do it again with my unmentionable hobby in hand.
I went north to college, Cal State Sacramento, and finished up with a degree in Psychology in 1995 and stayed in the area for a total of 14 years. I started working for a national commercial real estate firm in 1997 and was operations manager of their Sacramento office by December of that year. I basically oversaw the administrative side of the office, while my boss was responsible for the agents there. Along the way, I developed a liking (read, obsession) for computers and worked heavily with our IT department troubleshooting, testing, etc, and knew I really wanted to get into software research and development. June of last year, I got my dream job: I'm currently Project Manager, Software Development for the same firm and I'll have 10 years with them in May. But I am very much a workaholic to anyone who knows me, which is why I love my hobby so much.
In September came the second part of my opportunity: I relocated to Portland where the rest of my department is. I spent the summer flying back and forth every week, and the first time I flew in and saw the city, I fell in love with it. It's just big enough to be a city with a beautiful skyline and just small enough not to be overwhelming. Besides, where else can I have a stunning view of Mt. Hood just walking to get my mail?
One thing great byproduct of my unmentionable hobby is that I love to drive and explore back roads and just wander. My next toy needs to be a GPS unit! But it has been a great way to learn the area around here.
And now I tag..... ryzst . -- Any Soldier Don't judge a picture by its camera. My Gallery

Thanks Michele. I appreciate the thought.
This will be short.
My name is Russ and I'll be 49 next month. I was born in Los Angeles and have spent most of my life in the area. I went to college at UC Santa Cruz, majoring in Botany (I highly recommend the sinsemilla there, it's grown right on campus). In addition to that useless education, I've trained in the machining industry on both manual and computer controlled mills and lathes (I prefer mills). I currently work on the order desk for a machine tool supply company in southern California. Previous to that I spent nine years at a telescope manufacturing company, first as a CNC machinist, then as supervisor of the toolroom. I've had a fairly diverse range of employment, from a ranch hand in Idaho to proofreader to numerous service tech jobs.
I'm a voracious reader and movie buff. I enjoy camping and solitude, but I'm not happy unless I have a camera with me. My humor tends to be dry and sarcastic and I appreciate a sense of irony, especially in women. I have a younger sister and brother, who both live far away.
I bought my first SLR, a Canon FTb in 1976 with some of the proceeds from my hitch as a ranch hand when I was 18. I've enjoyed photography more than any other hobby and have owned a number of other film cameras. I'm fairly late to the digital party, but wouldn't dream of going back. When I can't be out shooting landscapes the computer renders let me stay creative while living in a concrete wasteland.
That's about it. No kids and no wife (although I am open to rich, young supermodels who aren't put off by slack-jawed stupidity).
Time to pass the torch. I'm going to drop the next dime on the incomparable rdavs. -- Sic transit gloria mundi

| reply to Wayne GphFX Awesome thread!! I don't know if anyone is already doing this but maybe we should PM the "IT" person so they know they have been selected?? Not everyone is likely to "follow" this thread if they haven't posted to it yet.

| reply to Wayne GphFX While I had felt I had known many of you already, I am finding this thread so valuable to put pieces together. We are a fairly diverse group but a bunch of pretty neat people, aren't we.
Btw., I IM'd my pick for IT. It seemed the logical thing to do. Good to put it in print though should someone not think to do it. |
