Hello all - just about to make the switch to Verizon DSL from dial-up. I'm running Windows 98 First Edition and Second Edition on three machines (which are running flawlessly), and have heard stories about the DSL software clogging up pcs. Is there a way to connect to DSL without installing any Verizon DSL software on Win98 machines? Also installing Netgear FVS114NA firewall - any issues to look out for in the install? Thanks in advance!
No software is needed. The modem/router that they will send you will handle everything. You will need network interface cards (NICs) in all of your machines. -- "They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security" Benjamin Franklin
