Re: Somebody piss in your cornflakes?

Just to let you know all Bell Sympatico Call Centers are located in Canada, primarily in the Toronto and Montreal Area, and are staffed by Bell Canada employees. The reason why your tech help may sound like they are from India is because East Indians are now the four largest ethnic group in the GTA. As for your statement about out-sourcing to India, it is very similar to what I currently hear from Europeans about the outsourcing of their tech centers to Eastern Europe and Russia, with the same the racist overtones that I see on this forum.

To me the accent is irrelevant but whether they know what they are talking about, can clearly communicate to you, and can solve your problems. So far the people I have dealt have been very polite, helpful and very knowledgeable. I cant say that with other tech vendors.

As for speed I only get 240kbs due to my location which is slightly slower than Rogers, but it is more consistent speed than rogers.

i don't know where you got your info but...

i have had to call bell sympatico far too many times since june 06 (start of service). being in montreal, when i called the english tech support line, more often than not, i got a rep who resides in india. the odd occasion, i got someone in ottawa. when i use the french support line, i usually get ottawa. this is based on more than 40 calls where i have asked the rep in which city or country they are.

i have never talked to a rep from montreal or toronto.

for those of you who prefer to speak with a canadian rep, i suggest that you call the french support line and then speak english. 9 out of 10 times, you will have a bilingual rep on the line.

i am not biased. i have just found that the 1st level support are not well trained in india (sometimes the 2nd level as well). i am sure that they are on contract to sympatico and not bell employees. the whole idea when outsourcing, is to hire another company. they are then given some training and a computer support system ( i always get a delay in responding to my questions after they call up your account which i attribute to them looking up answers to basic questions or else passing you on to someone else etc.

as to line speed, when you talk to the rep, ask what profile you have. the answer is a number ( do not accept "high speed" etc). if you have 1728, this means that you are getting the basic dsl speed (1000Mkbs) which translates into 125 MKbs dl. 3000 is 3000Mkbs, the old high speed rate (375MKbs dl). profile 5056 is the new high speed rate (5000Mkbs) which gives you 625 MKbs dl. i learned this by having to ask far too many questions due to poor traing/support.

I nearly laughed out loud when I read this. Everyone who's called knows that Sympatico's customer service is outsourced. Nice try with the racist card regarding outsourcing - everyone knows why it's done. To save money. Period.

I've asked and been answered that the weather in India is beautiful; a balmy 37 degrees. Last time I checked Toronto was under a metre of snow.

I guess you have no clue where are those reps talking from. Everytime I called bell, they were somewhere in India. Bell sympatico really sucks. They promised me 5Mbps service but I never get even 1Mbps. when they were selling me on the phone, I asked them repeatedly "is it 5Mbps with no download limit?". Every time these shitty liers say yes. And you know with rogers I always got more than 3Mbps. I am thinking to get rid of sympatico after a month.
