DD-WRT SP3?

The DD-WRT site has been promising a new version for a while, as well as a SP3 for the current version. What I haven't seen is when these will be available.

Has anyone been following the builds or heard any hint of a release date?

FYI I understand the new version will allow for virtual wireless networks where you could for could have one full speed network for your family (fulfilling your nee for performance) and a separate lowers speed network unsecured for neighbors (fulfilling your inner need to keep the internet free). Pretty sweet.

I know where the builds are but when they'll be done is what I'm asking.

Are you using the nightly builds? Thoughts?

I can see why he can't give a date for the new version because he's adding features, but SP3 for the current version should be easier?

I have been using the nightly builds. For the most part they are working well. Any small fixes usually are out the next day.

I always keep my last good version so I can fall back..
Both V23 and V24 come from the same code base so they are tied tightly together. Many features overlap both versions

What are you looking for??

Odd - usually a service pack is to address problems not so much add features (yes I know Microsoft always break that).

I guess what I'm saying is I'm happy with v23 all I want is the final SP3 version.

Isn't overclocking already available in SP2?

I knew what I called it! Just thought I was missing something. It's been available since the release of v23 I think.

Sorry if this is a OT question. I have only used linksys firmware and was thinking of flashing to DD-WRT v.23SP2. The question I have is, does this firmware help in allowing my WRT54G transmit with more power or is that something that firmware can not help with?

Yes, though you'd get better results with a new antenna.

DD-WRT allows you to boost the routers "Xmit Power
(Default: 28, Range: 0 - 251mW)". I don't know if this is limited to the mini/std versions or on the micro version as well.

Not on Micro, and not particularly helpfull anyway. Increasing transmit power doesn't improve sensitivity. What good is it of your laptop can hear your router better but the router can't hear the reply?
