On my main computer at home I have been using NOD32 for about a year now and I am very happy with it. I used eXtendia AntiVirus for several years but it would not work with XP64 and their tech support was completely clueless.
At work I use Symantec Corporate Edition because that is mandatory in my company. I personally get the feeling that it couldn't catch a cold.

F-Prot 6 over here on the Windows boxes, and the latest Linux version on the Linux boxes. I use it on the Linux boxes mainly when I download files for Windows machines before they go on the USB flash drive.
F-Prot doesn't slow the system down, and the latest version updates real fast. It isn't in your face about other products, so I don't even realize it is installed unless I look for it in the system tray or it finds something.
So many security products now turn your PC into a huge billboard for all of the vendor's other products. I just want something that does what it says and does it well. This is why I like it for family systems as well. I don't want them to be bothered with prompts to buy all of this other stuff, and I know they will just ask me about it anyways. F-Prot does it job quietly.
Now, I just want them to finish up that Vista version or at least put out a beta.
For larger installations, I would like to try the new F-Prot Corporate version. It can pull updates and settings from a central server, but it is all or nothing and not quite as elegant as some of the competing products. I have no reason to believe that it wouldn't work, though.
Currently, I am using Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition for larger installations (20+ computers). It also stays out of the way and doesn't advertise for other products. The licensing setup of Corporate is not annoying and can be tracked easy enough (through the management console if all clients are installed in Managed mode). It also doesn't seem to slow down the computers too much unless they are very slow to start with. |

1 edit | I like AVG. I briefly used Panda and it seemed to hog up all my resources. I have previously used Norton and McAfee, both were OK, but wanted to try something else.
I am always willing to try another one out, but would prefer freeware.

I can't tell if it is working or not!
I was using Trend Micro.
Anyone else try norton 360?

1 edit | Museheart, I used Norton products for 4-5 yrs. Went to 360, like you could not tell if it was working. Have seen some very high reviews for it, I'll see if I can remember where and link you. I uninstalled it, got a refund and now use CA Sec. Suite which has my AntiVirus program. It doesn't seem to be hard on my resources. The tech support has been excellent and quick to respond. wbg

Last year I used NOD32 .. Decent Av but it didn't catch everything (eventually it gets updated...)
Then I went to KAV.. Big mistake!
Now I use Avast! Free! Great! No Problems! Detection is very good!

Both have 64-bit support which I like.
