Re: Cable VoIP not any better.

I have followed packet-8 for quite some time now and wondered how long have you had it and have you experienced any problems with it?

I've had P8 for 3 years and find it a superbly reliable service. Just for the record today they announced a $2.00 monthly increase in pricing. Still makes it an excellent deal.
I like the feature set and the fact that I can move location and just plug it into any broadband and I'm up and running. I've used it on visits to SE Asia for a month at a time and again you just plug and play:) If I'm traveling for a week I can have all my voice mail messages sent as an mp3 attachment to my email.
Voice Quality is a smidgen below POTS, but certainly well good enough to please me. International calling rates are very competitive too.

Still even with an extra $2 it's a good deal. Funny thing is I can take my Packet 8 over to my mother's house and hook it up and it sounds better than her Charter phone service. And Charter supposedly uses some sort of dedicated line or whatever. I'd like to have that explained.
