Follow up
After searching and scanning and some thinking.....I had downloaded norton ghost trial and after a restart, sygate failed to run.
I uninstalled ghost, now sygate works. Just a correlation, but thought I would throw it out there for you pro's.

As for the ivregmgr.exe I'm guessing Intervideo trial stuff?
