can someone give me some background on secureix. something that is free always seems a little sketchy to me. if it bloacks our isp's from seeing what we're doing, does that mean secureix is able to know what we're doing? maybe its run by the government! ooooh haha.

any info would be nice, thanks

They can know EVERYTHING you do since all traffic is being routed through their servers.

This is what I've noticed.

Only *.avi and other video files are getting throttled. When I was trying to download *.avi torrents, and if I tried to download a large *.avi from a http website I was getting horrlible speeds.

But when I was downloading a .rar or .exe files. I get normal speeds.

Maybe only media files are being throttled?? :S

And don't forget to allow PPTP Passthrough in your router's config page. The SecureIX setup page doesn't mention that. I got myself an account and tested it out in case Ted decides to pay me a visit, he is right next door! It works very well. It also shows me as having their 64.xxx IP in lieu of the dreaded 74 subnet. LOL!!!!

Never a bad idea to be proactive concerning Ted and his user crippling ways!

You guys with SecureIX disconnect problems should take your questions to the proper forum. This thread will be locked if we talk about SecureIX config. Sorry, my BlueOx (Linksys) is running like a dream with it, can't help ya. Or just get a Linkie!
