This router has been available for several months now. Since at least the beginning of November.

The KR1 (made by DLink, branded/sold by Kyocera) is a far better router IMO. That is the router they are focusing their efforts on. The list of supported cards/phones continues to increase. Can't say the same thing about this DLink model.

I'm using a DIR-450 right now and it works great for me using Alltel's EVDO service w/ a kyocera kpc-650 card.

I've used both the Merlin S720 (cardbus device), and the U720 (USB Device) in the KR1. Firmware upgrades for the KR1 come quite quickly, and it is truly a great device. I've installed 4 of these at customer locations and none of them had nothing but good things to say about the service and the 802.11 network provided by the device.
