| [Connectivity] Connectivity issues
I have a desktop PC plugged into the cable modem and it works no problem and recieves a 67.x.x.x ip address from DHCP. When I unplug the CAT5 cable from the desktop and plug it into my laptop all I get is the Windows default 169.X.X.X IP. Under the status field it says that the connection has limited or no connectivity. It's set to obtain an IP from DHCP and also set to obtain DNS servers automatically. I know the NIC is fine, as I have plugged the laptop into other internet connections, and also used it on an wired ad-hoc network and it works fine. As far as I can tell all settings are the same on the desktop and laptop are the same. Any ideas? |
