I don't believe the numbers, but I've experienced the unexpected porn effect. It makes for an interesting game: search with the most innocuous words, and see how many results it takes to find some porn. The best (or worst) was a Google image search that returned a page-full of a guy with his penis hanging out. No, I wasn't searching for "penis".
