RickPremium,MVM join:2001-02-06 Waterbury, CT | I wouldn't fault Walmart too much As everyone knows, whenever possible they do offer the low price..always.
While the article says they have significant leverage because of their massive buying power it's doubtfull they had much to do with THESE kinds of prices.
These studios and industry associations simply are not going to let downloading become the cheap way out for consumers and cannibalize on the party they've had going on for years now.
I'd suspect that Walmart has slashed their profits to the bare minimum in order to even do what they're doing.
And we ALL know where the REAL money is going to. -- The Coyote captured the RR! Roadrunner Rick is now Comcastic! |

| reply to Rick Interesting that. Walmart sells something like 40% of all DVD's sold in the United States. They are one of the major stumbling blocks that Apple has run into in selling movies via Itunes, and they hold considerable sway when it comes to pricing DVD's, Blueray, and HD-DVD's. Personally, for me it is just one more thing I will not buy from Walmart. -- Retaking our country one election at a time. |
