WOW!
on them not picking up the phone or the measly fine. I've family very close to Rockville, and while talking about their bill going up again the subject of how long it takes to get something done over the phone came up -- once you do get someone -- and it sounded like a nightmare

In Comcast's defense, however, they may have jumped on this spectacular deal at the local Sta_les for Vista-equipped notebooks.

Is that Aero?

I'm glad some people still have a sense of humor! I posted it over in the Mac forum, with a Humor tag, and it lasted no time before the Mod deleted it.
You see the word "dependable" behind the locked notebook and it IS funny; it's not to bash MS, it's just a funny picture. Some people ...

na what that is is a computer that has a few 100 hands on it a day none of wich know what the heck they are doing or worse know exactly how to screw up the computers.

It is a easy task to bluescreen windows if you want to. Is also fairly simple to crash a mac to. Just block the exaust on the comp be it a mac or pc laptop etc and it will crash. Macs tend to 1 lock up or 2 shut down. A over heated pc laptop etc with windows tends to bsod first then overheat a bit more and shut down or fry out right.

Ok on topic exactly how long did it take comcast to answer their phones? Ive had to wait 15 or 20 minutes for TWC even longer when i had dsl service from att. TWC failed to update my phone number 3 times when i was trying to arange a payment plan to pay on a past do bill do to a little brat who was here and ordered $250+ in porn movies. First time he was here he ordered around $100 i had turned on parental controls he called twc used my last 4 digits of my social sec number to get it reset and ordered the crap. Next time i had called twc to turn off pay perview and again he used my ss number to turn it back on and ordered the rest. Point of the story is while i think comcast has some very questionable practices they are far from the only ones. Why does twc not use a password or pin that you give them from the start to prevent such things as happened to me? Why does a company with no less than 2 dozen support people have 10 to 20 minute wait times? When you dial the 1800 number it conects you to your closest support center.

If you drive around here you will see alot of sat dishes and few coax lines. So this tells me that they should have a fairly low number of calls per day.

On the face it would almost seem that the fcc has selected comcast as a target just to say hey look what were doing. It is mostly a token punishment to make the fcc look good.

Tripple the fines fine all of them equally not just one supplier.

Well it is quite ironic heh. Kind of like the win2k promo where gates said something to the effect of more stable and wham bsod. I have to wonder if they do those bsods purposefully just as a running gag? I think the very first one was a windows 95 promo demo and after that it was like every single os had some ironic crash glitch or bug.

And am the only one who thinks that pic is just a tad to perfect?

That is a XP BSOD. Most likely running XP with the demo software. Also, what does it have to do with the original thread?

It was taken the day after release day at a local staples. Whether it's XP or Vista is beyond my ability to discern; however, I can't imagine Staples displaying a new notebook running XP to a Vista display kiosk. It's just a joke anyway.

Did you miss OT in my title?

The demo program runs in XP, and most likely they did not have a Vista version yet, due to the laptop was pulled from the XP demo prior. As for leaving it up and running that way, it is a management problem.
