Re: Well, a grain of slat here... My how the USA has changed! The year was 1965 and I was a still a snot nose kid of 17+. However, Uncle Sammy and the American Joe/Jane public made sure (via their support & taxes) that I was well protected from all bad in this world. I was allotted 2 cartons of cigarettes per week for 12 cents a pack, 2 quarts of booze per week for $5.00 a bottle. Also, since I wasn't of legal age (18) to drink off (outside)any U.S. Naval base, I could drink all I wanted on (inside) any U.S. Military base.
They even were nice enough to have setup clubs called enlisted mens clubs where I could smoke, drink, watch topless dancers, and generally have a good time. Of course the real protection from porn came when the Navy showed me all those training films about the female anatomy, how to properly have safe sex, and exposure to all those brothels overseas (Alongopo Philipines, Yoko & Sasebo Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, etc.).
In fact, I had been shown porn, provided with smokes, booze, and whores, all before I had turned 18. Even got a dose of the clap in Hong Kong. All curtesy of the good old USA and I won't go into the fact that I could have got my ass killed before I made it to 18.
Yes the world has turned over many times since 1965. Most of the crap posted above would be considered a form of gross child abuse in todays touchy feely USA society.
