In Massachusetts, they don't issue bench warrants in civil trials, I didn't realize they did that anywhere in the US. Normally a court would just issue a default judgement, and if the company continued to refuse to pay they could order officers to go with the claimant to Verizon's offices (or one of their stores), and literally seize the money from the registers or petty cash. Usually doesn't come to that, but it usually doesn't come to a warrant either. |
