belgirl : The cable light will be solid with the activity light blinking. (this is what is should be when working normally) And then suddenly I won't have any connectivity. So I power down....plug it back in...and the cable light just blinks endlessly, like it is trying to find the signal. I left it like that for two days without doing anything and then it just magically starts to work again. And then sometimes I just leave it without even unplugging it and suddenly it starts to work again.

belgirl : Hi all--

I have been using COX HSI for over 2 years now. 98% of the time it works. But about once every 6 months or so, my cable modem will lose the signal and I will be offline. I have a modem Linksys BEFCMU10 v3. Last time this happened, I waited for 2 days and then suddenly the modem was back online and I was fine. Well last night, it happened again. I was working on the Internet and suddenly my modem lost the signal. I powered down and back up--no change. I unplugged the coax cable and then plugged it back in--no change. WHY OH WHY is this happening?? Cox has no idea. The configuration has not changed. The setup has not changed. And I have happily been using my Internet with this modem for a very long time. Does someone have any ideas for me? (BTW, my TV cable works just fine) Thanks!
