illJazzPremium join:2002-09-04 Geneva | Are there any worthy alternatives to Newzbin.com? I need a usenet index with NZB support that's fast, easy to use and is inexpensive. In other words, I need a Newzbin.com clone. The one thing that bothers me about Newzbin.com is how slow they are to roll stuff out.. their V3 has been in development forever and one of the pages over at V3 Newzbin has been saying "should be out in the next few days" for weeks now, if not months. Somebody behind Newzbin.com is sleeping...
Anyway, any suggestions? -- www.opera.com/ -- As good as it gets in browser-land »last.fm -- Fuel the music revolution! www.pando.com/ -- Personal file sharing made ridiculously easy. www.trillianastra.com/ -- The next Trillian! |

Does it also bother you that Gmail has been in "beta" for over a year? Just because Newzbin V3 is in development, I have to admit, is a pretty piss-poor reason to want to switch to another service.
IMO, I hope Newzbin doesn't migrate to V3 until the very distant future. I personally prefer V2 much more than V3. -- nfx |

It just sucks they're taking so long to make Watchdog available in V3. One thing I particularly like about V3 is how they tell you the file sizes of different entries right in the list.. not like in V2, where you have to first click an item to find out about its size. Or perhaps this is just a V2 setting I never saw? -- www.opera.com/ -- As good as it gets in browser-land »last.fm -- Fuel the music revolution! www.pando.com/ -- Personal file sharing made ridiculously easy. www.trillianastra.com/ -- The next Trillian! |

Newzbin.com still rocks, of course. I just wish they got on with it . Still, as someone in here said before, I shouldn't be complaining. One thing I really do miss in v3 Newzbin is v2's Watchdog feature... |

For example I think one of them has a request forum or something. Is that worth donating for or do you not know really because you never tried it? Just thought it seemed a little easier and nice to beable to try but if it doesn't work no big deal.
Not even sure if its that active of a forum. It may be dead. --

thender2Glamour ProfessionPremium join:2004-05-16 Staten Island, NY | reply to illJazz I still use V2. It is fine.
I search for content, I hit a browser bookmark, it sends it to an NZB client for me, no questions asked. What more do you want from newzbin?
There are alternatives, but nothing near as good. |

| reply to imtim83 If you're referring to Merlin's,I don't think there are any restrictions or the site is crippled in any way last time I used it. RSS or email NZB feed,100 day nzb retention , cover archive etc .Although, there are some sites I listed, which are crippled.nzbsrus comes to mind. |
