| reply to Bob Carrick Re: Impossible to set the proper MTU
OK, but why do i get this message after the Tweak Test report?: MTU = 1452 "MTU is not fully optimized for broadband. Consider increasing your MTU to 1500(1492 in my case) for better throughput. If you are using a router, it could be limiting your MTU regardless of Registry settings." Now, i 've tried with another modem/router eg. Dlink 624 w.less and i did set both MRU and MTU to 1492. After another Tweak Test it says: Your Internet connection is optimized for broadband,,lol. What's going on:)?? |

| I can't set the proper MTU at all. I'm throwing this crap out of the window any minute now. Got a PPoE conn. MY ISP claims the MTU is 1492 in my Thomson Speedtouch 585 v6 modem. However, i'm not getting any higher MTU than 1452 inluding the checksum(28) so, what should i do? Setting the MTU manually on my NIC doesn't help either..any suggestions? Thx. |
