Hacked or not?

Hi.

Ok, i have a question, i'm using msn 7.5 and tonight somebody added me ( i didnt know who they were) so as i got talking to them i thought something strange was up, so anyway when i tried to log in to view my messages i could because it said.

Error symbol Sign in failed.

You've tried to sign in too many times with an incorrect e-mail address or password, or someone else is trying to sign in to the account

Now i only tried to log in once to view my mail, also can you get hacked without receiving any files? etc..

Thanks.

I wouldn't say you were hacked because they weren't successful in logging in with your email address. However it does look like someone wanted to log into your account.

When you change the password make sure it's a very strong password. Also, go to passport.net (it will redirect you to some microsoft live site) make sure you update your secret question and secret answer to something that couldn't be guessed by anyone.
