 A1Premium join:2005-08-28 PA | a bit difficult to cancel your account... This article reminded me of an old account I have with Fon and decided to cancel it because I've never used their service. Today I logged in, read the FAQ and was instructed to send an email to delete the account, this is the response I got back:
Dear user,
We have received your request to delete or cancel your personal data from our systems. In order to perform your request, you can use the following procedures:
1. You can send us a letter or burofax to our office:
FON-Legal Department Avd. Bruselas 7, 3rd floor 28100 Alcobendas (Madrid) Spain
2. Or reply to this email (do not write a new one).
You must specify and attach the following information: - FON Username (email account) - Name and surname. - Copy (scanned if sent by email) of your identity card or equivalent document. - Your detailed request. - Your postal address. - Date and signature.
Bear in mind that we need this information to ensure your request complies with our Privacy Policy. In addition, this is a legal requirement. You should be aware that you may have a FON router subject to certain conditions, a FON daily pass which is still valid or some pending balanceon your Piggy Bank.
If you fall under any of these above mentioned cases please send us back the FON router or pass it to somebody else (send us these new contact details), use your FON daily pass or get more than $30 on your Piggy Bank before we delete your data, as we will not be able to know who you are anymore. |
