Re: 10K routers

The problem I have multiple problems with a Fon wifi spot. First, I don't have any assurance about the quality of the bandwith. TMobile's price is high, but they typically don't split a single 1 meg down ADSL connection sixteen ways. Fon is happy to do that, reserving half the 1 meg for the home owner. Second, Fon actively encouarges roving hotspots. Got a laptop with an EVDO card and twenty minutes between flights. No problem, Boston can have a new hotspot for those twenty minutes. Imagine the guy who buys a day as you are already hitting the shutdown sequence! Third, Fon is crying out for man in the middle attacks. Every airport has those free-wifi displays. Just how hard would it be to become a "legitimate" Fon service and patch into it. They are already offering soft-ap programs for Mac.
