From Itasca's website....

"If you haven’t already noticed, the large and shockingly pink boxes located around town are a way to draw your attention to the proposal by AT&T to locate ground mounted and over-sized utility cabinets on public rights-of-way near our homes and businesses."

Soooooo why not make them spend a few bucks on a little land scaping or maybe make them put up some sort of wood/vynal/pvc fence around them?

I'm siding with the locals on this. I wouldn't buy a home for sale with one of those in front of it. They draw way too much attention to them.

I have to agree. These aren't small boxes like you'd see for some cable installs. And they aren't tucked away next to the house or behind bushes. This is a huge white cabinet in your front yard.

Hell if they gave me a 50 dollar discount a month I would have 2 of them in my yard.

Look at the pictures, there is no way to plant bushes around them. They are planting them in the section between the sidewalk and the street.

Re: .

For all the time and money they'll spend in attorney fees they could just install something similar to these.

I concur. And look how close they are to the sidewalk.

You just CAN'T avoid it.. it almost looks like someone left a dryer outside for the trash guys to pick up, now who really would want that PERMANENTLY in their yard??

You know that's a crossbox, right? It has nothing to do with lightspeed and they've been plunking those down in those spots since before you were born.

I used to work for the utilities... first thing they do when someone plants bushes around a utility box and it needs service is cut down the shrubbery.

I'd guess the latter. Can't think of too many homeowners that are going to want that kind of monstrosity in their front yard.
