| | | | | Re: Don't screw with AT$T The other issue is that it requires making KNOWINGLY false accusations. Claiming AT&T might be responsible isn't enough, unless the city knew they weren't and said they were. And even then, AT&T would have to prove the city knew it wasn't them.

I doubt AT&T would sue over something like that, but I suspect they'd have a case if they did- it typically doesn't take long for a telco to identify a cable cut being the cause of an outage. Sounds like they went to the press with unfounded accusations almost immediately. | |
