It is a bit odd

diverse locales all losing service at the same time?...unless they are all on some kind of obsolete Centrex and the switch ate their homework, it is a little hard to believe they would all go down at the same time.

My take...Kilroy the Engineer wanted to make his own statement.

There is a strange resentment building up with some of the field techs for the ILEC's these days. I have seen it in some of the ones I have worked with, Hurricane Katrina brought it out in a worse way. They complain because people want primo service even during disasters, they want top shelf public services at all times, but will change service to a CLEC at the first price drop.

It will get worse before it gets better.
