Weak, weak, weak... it's still quite possible the company will spend billions on a product a significant portion of the country will LEAPFROG in just 3 years. Docsis 3.0 implementation is not some fading memory. Much of it can be deployed on curent docis 1.1/2.0 networks in little more than ONE year..
Neeless to say, regardless of what kind of network AT&T has in it's global markets.. the RESIDENTIAL LAST MILE will be an utter JOKE once it is deployed and all of the negative things will come home to roost for AT&T, much the same way domestic auto manufacturers have beeen complacent.. yielding marketshare to competitiors. I can bet AT&T will still be tinkering with DSL technology long into a DOCSIS 3.0 upgrade and while they're struggling to get double digit megabits and hi-def video... cableco will be at multiple hundreds of megabit speeds just to make an example out of at&t's merger! |
