Tedde22 join:2003-06-13 Cleveland, OH 2 edits | Just switched to Adelphia/Time Warner, stuck at 30k/s ? Not quite sure what the problem is here.
You ran this test on Feb 23, 2007 7:16 AM You averaged a download rate of 34.49 kilobytes per second You averaged an upload rate of 28.95 kilobytes per second
Signal seems to be ok?

Not sure how to get noise ratios, only the System link is enabled on the modem? I get this when I click Signal, Status, and Log
"This feature is not enabled. This feature has not been enabled in your cable modem.
Please contact your data services provider for more information about this feature and its availability on the network." |

Tedde22 join:2003-06-13 Cleveland, OH 2 edits | Is this a mistake on their part? I can't believe cable would even offer such a speed package?
As far as I know there are only two tiers, standard and premium.
Speeds are listed as 4Mbps/384Kbps, the other 6Mbps/768Kbps
Edit: Looks like I should have read the fine print. Their $24.95 for first 6 months sign up is for 256/768 DOWN depending on your area. Pretty awful that they have this 3rd speed tier, not to mention they don't list it on their website.
Bait and switch? My own fault for not reading everything I guess. Wonder how much they are going to want now for the normal tier. |

You can go to any of the higher tiers at any time by paying regular rate. -- He doesn't have issues, he has a subscription. |

I know it is beyond your control hobes, but why do do they have to obfuscate the info? It's not just TW here, this is standard practice.
How many car advertisements do you see on a weekly basis that talk about '$99 down, $99 a month' specials? Buried in the 25 lines of text at the bottom is a line about how that refers to one specific vehicle only as an example, and it may not be available during the sale period.
Ever see a Ditech.com commercial for a second mortgage? Ever try to read the two chapters of disclaimers? Me neither.
Turn on your TV tonight after 2am. Watch one of those infomercials that tell you how to make $100,000 a week working 15 minutes a day. How many of the 'results not typical' message did you catch?
Every use a Microsoft product? They have the best fine print ever!! My favorite is in the ActiveSync 4.5 EULA.
12. LIMITATION ON AND EXCLUSION OF REMEDIES AND DAMAGES. You can recover from Microsoft and its suppliers only direct damages up to U.S. $5.00. 13. It also applies even if Microsoft knew or should have known about the possibility of the damages. The above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you because your country may not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental, consequential or other damages.
TW isn't obfuscating anything if they are telling you right in the ad what you're getting for what you're paying. The fact that it's right there , and you don't have to dig for it gives more credence to say that people should take two seconds to :
a. Read the fine print. b. Ask questions until you're satisfied, and before you agree to or sign anything.
To the OP, looks like you're getting exactly what you signed up for. Unless they've changed anything, you have no contract, should be free to change it around or cancel if you wish to.
But read the paperwork first. |

 | reply to Tedde22 personally i'm glad they decided to keep the lower tier for those that just want something besides dialup and can't efford the higher price upper tiers, however i do wish they would put it on there website, and that sales dept. would let you know it is availible. |

Tedde22 join:2003-06-13 Cleveland, OH | While I did say it's my own fault for not reading the fine print, they really should rename the lower tier.
When I here "basic" package and "standard" package, those come off as being the same thing.
Now throw in the fact that the "basic" package is no where to be seen on the website...
Ah well, they got an extra $10/month out of me. At this price though, the DSL I ditched is looking pretty good again. |

But I'm happy your service is working properly now.
