Re: id pay someone to... Thanks for that bit about San Diego. But I wonder if this could fly in less affluent areas?
I would pay for it, but would renters and absenteee landlords care?
One point made in this article »www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib···nes.html is that the changes are in older areas, where relatively wealthy property owners would benefit from the underground conversions at the expense of ratepayers.
There are arguments on both sides (money vs. aesthetics) but I like the park bench idea. How about a dog watering fountain? A trash can where dog walkers can toss their dog poop bags? Cubist collage? As already mentioned, the cell phone people have shown us how they have at least put forth the effort to camouflage similar things.
The only comparable thing around here is the crossbox and the traffic signal control cabinet. Of course, the traffic signals are at busy intersections, are smaller, and therefore do not stand out as much.
There are no crossboxes around here exceeding four feet high, and the higher ones are very skinny. Wider ones look like they are three feet tall max. -- USNG:16TDN2870 Find your Lat-Long: Geocoder |
