Yeah, I know. Every time I see something like that I cringe because a blanket name such as "Christian Group" usually spawns lots of criticism for ALL Christians, myself included (because I still am actively involved in much of the IT business, though not my day to day job).

I think it is good that people are trying to inform non-tech savy parents about the possibility, but that's as far as it should go. Parents might know to watch their kids while online, but they might assume playing the Wii is safe from porn. Face it, some parents probably know little to nothing about game consoles.

If parents are concerned, just pull the network plug. ...but they would have to know about the possibility first.

I'm 100% Christian-Catholic but my goodness this is ridiculous. If Wii is bad then what do they think a computer is? What a waste of reading this truly was. If parents can't control what their kids do, it's their own fault plain and simple. Don't blame it on a company who has good intentions just simply making it easy to play each other online and narrow the gap of distance.

Yes it is things like this that give the religion a bad rap .

Can't these parents read the manual. Wii does have parental controls.

NEWS FLASH!!! The idiot religious nut who spent money on buying the Wii doesn't HAVE to buy it. I am sure any church would agree, you should be reading the bible instead of browsing the web.

Do you read the manual for your gaming console? What's the big deal? All the website is doind is informing people about the parental controls.

I said things like this. That's all and won't go any further. Please don't start. I'm Christian and would appreciate it if this didn't go off topic intro a reasons of why you and many others may feel Christianity is a bad thing.

[sarcasm]Yup, according to the Church, you should divest yourself of all property, no TV, radio, video games, movies, cars, houses and money. You should be giving that money to the Church instead of spending it on "entertainment" and other comforts, such as a house or car. [/sarcsm]

I apologize for not reading carefully enough to see "the religion a bad rap" -- I meant nothing towards any particular religion; my point was intended as personal opinion/commentary on religion in general. I believe I'm allowed the right to express a general opinion without reproach. Isn't accepting diverse opinion that may contradict ones own -- even if the topic is a belief system -- called tolerance? For the record, I don't think any religion is a "bad thing"; it's people's twisting of it that usually leads to general mayhem. But again, I apologize if you're offended.

EDIT: two apologies for the price of one!

I just mis-understood you. No offense taken. I'm concerned though that this board is going to become a Christian bashing immature atheist mayhem like the Prayer Request Thread in the New Features Request forum did a few weeks ago.

I didn't have to read the manual to know my car had seat belts, a horn or a ashtray. WIFI abilities are in nice plan print on the box and if the ignorant parent can't read, guess that's Nintendo fault too.

Yeah, and nothing like the religious organizations being "cults" you referred to as below in another thread regarding boy scouts though is it? My comment wasn't directed at atheists, it was directed at immature ones who bash faith publicly. I don't judge by creed I judge by personality. And what you just said in regards to my last post and what you said below about religious organizations now puts you on my immature list.
