If parents are concerned, just pull the network plug. ...but they would have to know about the possibility first.
I didn't have to read the manual to know my car had seat belts, a horn or a ashtray. WIFI abilities are in nice plan print on the box and if the ignorant parent can't read, guess that's Nintendo fault too.
