okay, seriously... back in the day of the publisher's clearing house, they would send you all of the stickers for the magazine that you wanted to subscribe to and told you that even if you didn't subscribe you were still eligible to win... now, my question to you is if you knew whether or not this was a scam and that people who subscribed got preferential treatment over those that didn't and still expected the same chance to win the jackpot...

Speaking from what I saw, not everything was a scam, but some of stuff definately was. There was a promotion that PCH ran when they sent you all that stuff in the mail. The promotion was to win a Mercades S500 or something (the details escape me). It was printed on a small (like an index card size piece of paper), and it had a picture of a nice Benz on it, and on the back you were to put your contact information. Name, Address, telephone, etc.

We were instructed to throw all of those out. No one that entered appeared to have been given a shot to win any car.

I believe in the last few years, the State/Fed came down on them, so perhaps their practices had changed. I was in between work at the time, and I was offered a job there which I took. I resigned after the 6 months to become unemployed again because I didn't like what I saw. 3 months after that, I landed my current job where I've been for 8 years. So, I did a good thing.

What made me quit besdies the shadyness was that people from all across America thought they had won the $1,000,000. A woman - in her 50's - wrote a handwritten letter to PCH telling them how happy she is that she finally won, telling how broke she is. She was looking forward to a call back. Attached to her note, was one of her bills for $75,000 that she received from a hospital to cover her recent heart surgery that she spoke of in the letter. I was absolutely heart broken, and I gave my 21 day notice that evening.

Disclaimer: I am reporting what I saw, and what I was told to do. In no way do I represent PCH, their management or executive staff.

McDonald's did have ONE person win several years ago. The money was donated to St. Jude's in TN. It was on the news here. That was like 5 years ago if not 6. The winning contest piece was sent to the hospital without a name or anything.

·WOW Internet and..

It was more hush hush. Our local ABC station picked up on it. It was the first board game McDonald's did.

But Maxwell's House coffee is the same way. No matter how many cans of coffee you buy you never win anything and they have no mention of any winners.
