Wireless, it likely can't max out 30mb but no standard "G" router can as the technology doesn't permit it. You'd have to go with a non-standard proprietary G router with vendor specific "boost" technology.
Same with Verizon - a G router provided by Verizon can't max out a 30/50 mb tier when wireless.

ANYWAY, to OP, your router sucks :P
get a D-Link DGL-4300
I did and I get NO slowdown what so ever. It's like having the modem directly connected to my computer. Just set the router's upload speed manually and set gamefuel to auto and you're set. If need be, set your IP to DMZ. Oh and be sure that you change the router's IP to something other than 192.168.1.1 to avoid conflics. |

I have that router (v5) and wireless and wired, I max out my 20mb connection. I don't know where David got 12-13mb from, but I didn't have it as a primary router through the WAN port. |

And in addition, that router features SPI which is known to cause home routers to under perform. SPI needs to be disabled on FIOS as well as OOL & OOL Boost in order to achieve max speeds. |
