| reply to ca6l3guy said by ca6l3guy :If you are in the TWC Albany Zone you just need to reboot the modem and if you have a VOIP modem from TWC pull the battery too and you should see the speed increase ! I never thought about pulling the voip. I just rebooted the modem. |

| reply to jmurx Are you a former Adelphia customer? If so that probably explains it. In a normal situation Standard RR is 10/1 and RR Premium is 15/1. I don't know what to tell you those are the offical speeds for the franchise.

| reply to DKRiscool It seems that some old wireless routers might not be able to handle the 802.11b speeds as advertised 10Mb/s. Using such a connection can dramatically affect ones speed and result in not seeing the speed increase. Also, some of the older modems could be an issue as well. I found this info while searching some of the other blogs.
Maybe along with posting our speeds and the cable area we live in we can include the Modem make/model, as well as our OS, NIC capabilities etc..
I am in Saratoga County NY (albnyrr) Turbo RR $10 additional to my all-and-1 pack, use a RCA425 modem connected to a Netgear wireless G router. My laptop runs XP home and has a Atheros 802.11G+ wireless card. Laptop specs= p4 3.06G with 1G ram.
Speed increase noticed after rebooting my modem 3/2/07.

I attempted to download a test file from RIT »ftp://ftp.rit.edu/
vse800.msi 13.3 MB (transfer rate= 1.1MB/sec Completed in 12sec) VSE800Reports.Nap 2.43MB (transfer rate= 2.43MB/sec)

@rr.com | reply to DKRiscool Has anyone on the biz plans heard anything? I'm paying 4x more than residential accounts and getting 1/3rd the bandwidth, this is more than a little annoying. |

| reply to rrlovinit I must have one of those old wireless modem/router combo, it's a PCX 5000. I've had it for about 4 years. I'm not getting any increase with my download speed, my upload is staying at about 960-980 so my upload has more than doubled. I live in Colonie. |

| Does anyonebody who (Actually) lives in Albany. Not Colonie, Not Bethlehem, Not Clifton park, confirm speed upgrades ?.
I put in an order for "RR Turbo" which should be hooked up March 15th. The Website quotes 8Mbit / 512kbps.
can anyone in the the actual city of Albany confirm RR Turbo or standard speeds please ? |

| Nevermind, I called Time Warner to confirm of these speed upgrades you all are talking about, the rep explained how they are lighting up some of their dark fiber, to increase latency , and replacing some legacy hardware in order to bring
10MBit downstream to standard roadrunner customers 15Mbit downstream to roadrunner turbo customers.

| reply to jmurx said by jmurx :northutica: do you know this as a fact? Yes. I was told by TW customer service and my neighbor who works for National Grid. You know all those pole workers eat lunch together. We here in Utica should be seeing 10 down and whatever up they offer the rest of the country. But it will not happen until about a month from now or hopefully sooner. |

I've seen one person reporting 15/2 somewhere here in SoCal, I think. -- No one is always right or always wrong, unfortunately. |
