Once again, The UTICA, NY area is undergoing a major hardware and infrastructure upgrade. The speed of 10 mbps down will not take effect until they are completed. Late March or early April 07' for a target date.
I do not know the status of other areas in Central New York but I would assume they would be the same.

Thank you.

The purpose of my question was to show that it is FRANCHISE specific. Your link applies to the ROCHESTER area - and is irrelevant for the Hudson Valley area (Middletown/Goshen). No such link/graphic/information appears if you use a Zip Code of 10924...

Now why is it different based on franchise? Shouldn't it all be the same service in all areas? TWC companies all over the place should be in sycn with one another not all over the place!

I've noticed it's different depending on who is the local telephone company (Verizon or AT&T or other). That's just one thing, of course.

They cannot advertise speeds which do not exist. As soon as the upgrades are completed this area and all others will see the new speeds. Syracuse and Utica customers are just as important to Time Warner as is Rochester, Buffalo or anywhere else for that matter. Soon it will be an all out war between Time Warner and Verizon and we the consumers should benefit. FIBER!

This topic has been discussed any number of times, and you've asked the same question over and over. And gotten the same answers.

One reference point might be
»Re: For those who transitioned from Comcast and Adelphia
which was trying to explain to Adelphia/Comcast 'refugees' that RR does not have a SINGLE SET OF PRICES AND TIERS nationally.

Regardless of what you thing is 'Fair and reasonable' - it's not going to change.

The web page for 10924 lists 7/512 for standard and 8/768 for premium. Whether that's going to change or not - well, you'll find out when it changes. RR doesn't announce these things, and their techs often find out when a customer tells them.

While you're waiting for your speed to increase, it would be helpful not to derail threads discussing California, Albany, or other franchises.

Thanks.

I hope they include New Hartford when they upgrade Utica... I'm still at 4/384, about 10 miles not even from the Utica/New Hartford border.

I'm sure that New Hartford will be included. There is an article today in the Utica Observer Dispatch that talks about the Time Warner Utica cable hardware and infrastructure upgrade. Of course it also includes an April 1st rate increase so I do believe that the upgrades will be completed by then. Time Warner is really pushing their package deal in this area for TV-PHONE-HIGH SPEED INTERNET. That 4 down crap did not hold up in this area as far as the phone went. Many people I work with got rid of their phone due to low bandwidth and outage problems. It really makes sense to upgrade all cable download and bandwidth in this area. I don't really know for sure if it will be 10 down but for them to have a reliable phone network it would have to be close.
Time will tell.

I asked my biz. sales rep and he told me business class was going to be the last set up upgrades (after all Res. are completed) He said we would see an increase at the same pricing, he wouldnt commit to what any speeds were going to be.

What town are you in? Wasn't speed increase suppose to happen in Q1 of 2007? Which would be what, march 31st?
