ubiquiti ls2 power supply

I just received a ubiquiti light station 2. I just plugged it in (don't ask..Just one of those days)to my standard 24v switching power supply with POE that I use all the time for other radio's. To my surprise it did not fire up. I then read the spec sheet and it calls for voltage range of 5v to 18v max. When I plugged it in, like I said no "pop" or smoke...or anything. It just did not fire up. My question is.....Did I fry it or just need a 5 to 18v power supply to power it up. God I hope that is all. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rob

Maybe they are not using the standared POE pinouts on the cat 5? I have seen this before on some like Smartbridges why manufacturers just dont stick with the standard is beyond me its all about being "different"

You should send it back. If it was not labeled "Warning noncompliant POE" you should not be held responsible.
POE should mean 802.3af.
I am amazed it does not happen more often.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Last night I tried a linksys 12.5v power supply. To my amazement, The power lead came on. I will fully test later tonight. Weird. Never had this happen before. I hate to ship it back cause my distributor will not get any in until 2-3 weeks.
