No need to use Vonage adaptor with a step down converter instead buy a new 220v adaptor ($5) just make sure the new power adaptor's voltage output selection options will match your vonage box (ie 12v or 5v output) and the power plug will fit your DC In jack on the Vonage box. |

I'm not sure if it is easier, because there are more variables involved (ie the jack for the unit + the voltage output) but in some places it's a lot cheaper to buy this then buying a step down converter...however in HK I think it's just easier to buy the step down converter as their prices are quite reasonable, and if you don't speak Cantonese it can become pretty tricky trying to ask someone a bunch of complicated tech questions.
