Welcome to the Bell Internet forum - the place to discuss the internet services of the various units of Bell Canada.
The Site Rules on Posting (»Site FAQ »What are the Rules on Posting?) apply here. If you have a question about moderator actions then please send an Instant Message to us and we'll consider your comments. Comments and questions about moderation are not to be posted in the forum.
This is a support forum to let users help users of the service. It is not a intended to give people a soapbox to vent their complaints about Bell Canada and its related host companies. Nor is it a place to advertise how wonderful it is. Please try to stay on topic within a thread. We're sure that everyone has a lot to offer to other users from their experiences.
If you believe a post violates the site posting rules and it hasn't been picked up by the mods, use the Hey Mods button. That said we don't need 1000 hey mods per bad posting! If you find that a posting or a member bothers you and you want to reply in kind, please take a deep breath and remember that you're likely to write something that will end up moderated! Please ignore such posts or people. It's a lot easier that way. Think twice before hitting the button to post your message!
Welcome aboard.
Knocking each other (Update Oct 9)
This continued knocking each other is absolutely counterproductive. So many posts lately border ridiculously close to flaming and trolling each other. It doesn't help anyone. What you think of anyone and their post is irrelevent. If you can't provide a helpful response to someone, DON'T RESPOND. Keep to the topic and don't flame each other.
Promoting Other ISPs (and Knocking Bell's sevices)
While Bell's service can cause intense levels of frustration and anger, AND while there are lots of 3rd party DSL services that may relieve "Bell angst", posts whose sole purposes are to knock Bell and *at the same time* promote a 3rd party are not acceptable. In other words, if you have a problem with Bell and want to post, that's still OK (although 1000 new threads all with the same complaint over the last month gets a little monotonous! )
In simple terms ... it's OK to say, "I've had it with Bell, I'm going to a 3rd party" ... but it's not OK to say "Bell is crap, everyone should go to ". In other words, it's OK to tell what you're doing, but it's NOT OK to prescribe it as a course of action to others especially if you're promoting a 3rd party ... An example sure to get modded would be "You should go to Gazornonsplatt ISP".
The goal is to help Bell customers not promote other ISPs. If you want to compare ISPs we have reviews, and we have the Canadian Broadband forum. |
