1 edit | Oh boy, cable "increasing speeds" again - I'm so excited!
What is it this time?
Is it a set cap below what I could transfer a month on unlimited 3000/768 verizon DSL?
Do they send out abuse notices only to certain people who live in areas with overloaded nodes in the name of "ensuring proper network performance for all users"
Or do they do the smartest marketing gimmick/scam in the book, advertise a certain high speed but in fine print put that it only lasts for 60 seconds, and have the NERVE TO WRITE IT OFF AS A BENEFIT!
Oh I can't wait to see how this will be.
Cable ISPs don't upgrade their network to increase speeds anymore. They use one of the above tactics and because nothing else is available with the same high speed(those who play fair don't offer the high speed to begin with), people put up with it.
I may be wrong. The real reason they get away with it is because 90% of their customers see the high numbers/WE'RE THE FASTESTBESTEST!!1 but in reality have absolutely no clue what they're paying for. -- The Problem With Music.
