| PC's the future of DVR's? I am guessing that if TiVO goes away, than what we will have left is what ReplayTV has done...go as software on PC's.
Aside from those with cable, fios, or a satellite dvr, I guess a PC will become the only other way of having a dvr? (Which can actually be good for both expandability and the fact you aren't forced to watch annoying ads when you fast foward or rewind).

That would require the cable companies to ENABLE said firewire ports on cable boxes. -- You can never be too rich, too thin or have too much Bandwidth

From my unterstanding, those PC cards will be out sometime this year (someone correct me if I stated this too soon).
But the first generation is receiving only, and not sending information (meaning that you can get the channels you subscribe to, but you don't get a channel guide or the ability to use pay per view or on demand).
The second generation, which I believe it due out next year? (again, someone correct me if I have my timeframe wrong), will communicate both ways, so you will get your channels, channel guide, and can use pay per view and on demand.
