microsoft is coming out with another 360 with a 120gb hard drive, hd dvd drive, and hdmi ports. The 360 already comes out of the box with HD capabilities. The ps3 is not better performance potential, tests have already shown the 360 is able to put out more then the ps3 in graphics and speed. And the ps3 is not completely backwords compatible, many games you still cant play or the ones that do play dont even work correctly. |

I'm going to have to disagree there. I can walk into any Wal-Mart, Best Buy, or pretty much any other electronics store and get a PS3. The PS3 is a failure. The Xbox 360 wasn't available for something like 4-6 months after it was released. I could care less about either of the consoles but that's the sad truth. The Wii is going to win this round. Its already vastly ahead of the PS3 and I'm pretty sure it will overtake the 360 in the next year or so as long as the momentum keeps up. The only console that I have any interest in is the Wii. Its actually a lot of fun to play. The PS3 is the same thing in a more expensive box with prettier pictures.You can spout off all you want about the PS3 and its "next-gen" graphics or its supposed power or whatever you PS3 fanboys tell yourselves to justify the pile of money spent on a piece of crap. Sorry, my PC has had better graphics than your little game box for years and I'm not impressed by a multi-core machine that really doesn't do much. Before you go talking about the "worst" fanboys, better look in the mirror, your one of the Sony ones. And you really should take a good look at all the "innovations" that Sony says they are coming up with. They are nothing more than ripoffs of other successful things like Xbox live and the Nintendo Mii's. I could go on and on but why bother.... |

Which means current XBox 360 owners need to buy a whole new console to get these benefits? Will current 360 owners get a change to get these features on their console? If so how much is it all going to cost them?

What tests? What are they based on? Current games that are out? Processing power between the 360's core and the PS3's core? Keep in mind the PS3 has eight working subprocessors, and once they are utilized the real power behind the console will start to show.

As of the last firmware update just about all of the previous PS and PS2 games will work on the PS3. When you look at the 360's backwards compatibility there simply is no comparison. |

very interesting my uncle in law who works for Microsoft says that entire statement is false.
They have no plans to create a bigger hard drive. a third party company may. They have no plans to create a new version of xbox360 let alone one with build in hd dvd drive... The 360 does currently support HD but not full true HD via HDMI Connectivity... And no plans to add that... And yes the ps3 maybe not completely backwords compatible but its atleast at 95% compared too XBox360's 10% backwards compatability.... I have 20 Regular XBox games and out of all of them the only ones that work on the 360 are Halo and Halo 2.......
So you might wanna fire your source for information. |

You know, I think the PS3 is a fine system. So is the XBox360... Heck, the Wee is too...
I travel all over the country for work. I live in Metro Los Angeles. Every Best Buy, Circuit City, and Walmart I've been to in the area has PS3s available... 4 was the least in an Orange County Best Buy, and 15 in a Best Buy near El Monte.... I will buy a PS3 when the prices come down a couple hundred dollars to maybe $300. Maybe where you live, presumably Virginia Beach, VA, is a PS3 mecca, but everywhere I've checked from Maine to California has many PS3s in stock... |

The PS3 was released a little less than 6 months ago. The 360 was released when there was no other next generation system available. Of course it sold quickly! Give it time; the PS3 is the better system. I've played both and there is no comparison. The 360 will always have Halo which will keep it in the running but the PS3 is the better overall system (which explains the inflated price). |

I dont think so. Look at all the hype that Sony put out before the thing was released. They said there were going to be a million at launch and that people would have a hard time finding them for decades... and so on and so on. Over a million units sold is good, but by comparison between the sales of the 360 and the Wii, its effectively nothing. PS3s are easy to find now, and not just the lower version one. So far, Sony hasn't delivered the killer system they have been harping on for the last year thus I call it's a failure in my book. |

Higher caliber? What the hell are you talking about? You actually think that the same damn game with improved graphics is higher caliber? You are easily impressed. There is virtually NO difference between the Xbox and PS2 to the Xbox360 and PS3 with the exception of a faster proc and year old PC graphics. Whoppie. I argue that the only "next gen" console would be the one that innovates gameplay and adds something to gaming overall. Prettier pictures dont constitute innovaion. If your happy with your Xbox or PS then good for you. And as for high caliber games... You may want to use your brain a bit and realize that Zelda and Mario carry much more weight as games than Halo or anything on the PS3. They both have been powerhouse names in gaming for over 20 years. I doubt that anything on the PS or Xbox will have that kind of staying power. |
