For AP you should be on AP Bridge.

Check your data rates and enable all of them for now.

On Advanced under Antenna Mode try switching from antenna a to antenna b (some cards have dual ports, but SR2 should be on antenna a I think...)

Preamble Both, frequency power on default, chech you channels etc.

MikroTik Forum might be a better place to pose your questions:
»forum.mikrotik.com/

Though, for best results you might want to post your configuration (so others can see what settings you have).

Also, You might find some answers here: “Wireless Client and Wireless Access Point Manual”

For example this question
quote:
how do i make all clients private from one another.
is answered with this setting:
default-forwarding (yes | no; default: yes) - to use data forwarding by default or not. If set to 'no', the registered clients will not be able to communicate with each other.

Well, maybe your wireless is running, but you don't have your LAN set up right?

The wireless will not show R until a client is associated.

For AP Bridge to forward packets you either have to route or Bridge that interface with an ethernet interface.

Its ant B if your using MMXC connector
When you say it is not "transmitting" are you saying with a laptop right next to the system you dont pick up your SSID? or are you saying you see the SSID but you get no traffic to pass anywhere?

Make sure you create a bridge and assign an IP to it then put both WLAN and Ether 1 in that bridge group and it should work as a genreric bridged AP for testing. ONce you are done testing then you will need to make it a routed setup do do everything else correctly.

Another good tool is MikroTik wireless debug logging:
»wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Wireless_Debug_Logs

But, if you're not seeing your AP at all... I wonder about your bridge or masquerade configuration

We have another laptop same as mine with xp pro and it cant see it either. What could this be? I have changed the mode , channel and nothing.. not even with my net stumbler.

my partner gets a ip from the router going to the mikrotik and is able to browse internet. (have bridge set up on router)
