Just stick to using a modem + router, if for cable.  :p<br><br>That modem will work, but just make sure to grab revision 3.0 (I think), as the previous ones had some problems.<br><br>If you do a lot of torrenting, I suggest to look elsewhere. This modem's been known not to handle many simultaneous connections very well. Of course, I'm not sure if version 3.0 remedies this, but I'd rather be safe than sorry, either way.]]></description>

Speeds topped out around 6.9Mb / 500Kb at best; currently 5.7Mb / 500Kb, 11:28pm. Neilson / 401 area.<br><br>For gaming, pings are around the norm, but I've been noticing a few spikes here and there (to Dallas servers, I believe). A traceroute determined that it's most probably on Cogent's end of things.<br><br>Definitely dig the no-throttling. :)<br><br>So far so good. I highly recommend 3web. :)]]></description>

That said 3 Web had some major issues which has since been resolved. I get download speeds of 4.5 Mbs at the moment. 3Web advertises 6Mbs service.  3Webs customer service is terrible.  So if you are not tech savvy that could prove to be problematic.<br><br>i am still with 3 web because  they are $ 29.95 plus taxes verses  Rogers @$ 45.00 plus taxes.<br><br>good luck]]></description>
