| April 1st? ahhhhhh
Ok not meaning to start a rant but its slightly annoying. As you all know ive signed up for the comcast internet 6mb plan and they came out Wed. Turns out that they put me down as a reconnect (I needed a whole new line and a drop run from the pole which i specifically told them) and now I gotta wait for them to come out april 1st to run me a whole new line... Well april 1st is a sunday so I don't know if it will be run that acuall day? Seems weird to me that comcast cant get their crap together. I don't mind really but it ticks me off that I told them that I needed a line run and they stuck me down as a reconnect... silly people...
As for the time being CRAPPY DIALUP IS SOOOO MUCH FUN! LOL |

| reply to MalibuMaxx If there has been service at your address before then yes this will happen.
It sucks, for you and the installer, but it is the way the system seems to work.
Why they rescheduled you for next month is beyond me. Must be busy where you live.
Do they have to do a pre-buried line to your house? That is the only way it would make sense to me.
Otherwise I would think that running a new drop wouldn't mean much and would be done on the spot.
BTW techs do work on sundays in most areas I have seen. |

| Yeah, its an underground from my house to the drop... but he didn't have enough line from the pole to the house. Not to mention I don't think he wanted to climb the pole. LOL
I had service about 9 yrs ago but only T.V. LOL and since then the line was removed b/c of a driveway and a whole bunch of landscaping. |

| reply to MalibuMaxx I remember when they just laid the cable over the ground and like the next couple days they had someone come out and bury it with their machine ..but if they cant bury till the 1st. I highly doubt they'll let you keep the cable on top of grass for that long.
It was during the summer though when they did that to me |

| it is VERY common...to the point I would call it standard practice to leave a new drop on top of the lawn and have another crew come to bury it later. Sometimes they will stay unburied for months during the winter.
I am now leaning toward the lazy tech not wanting to do the job scenario. |

| reply to MalibuMaxx If you have an underground drop and it was removed because of a new Driveway they could have set you up for a prebury since they cannot lay a temp line over a driveway. In that case someone will come out between now and 4/1 and bore your driveway to get a line under it, then on 4/1 a tech will come out , hook up both ends and install the service. Although if there is a pole Im not sure why it couldnt just be an aerial drop.
As Rody stated, a reconnect simply means at some point in the history of cable someone at that address has had cable before. It doesnt matter what you need done, new drop all new outlets, it is all covered under ANY install order.
Sounds like a lazy tech BSing you or sounds like there is more to the story then you needed a new drop and they couldnt do it because it was a reconnect.
Such as it being underground and a driveway recently put in... -- CableFAQ.org/Technicians Unplugged

| reply to MalibuMaxx Driveways old I was just saying thats the reason I needed a new line put in cuz it was cut a long time ago. There is room to go around the drive but he apparently didnt want to run the line. Its ok cuz i dont want the line on the ground for that long anyway. |
