If there has been service at your address before then yes this will happen.
It sucks, for you and the installer, but it is the way the system seems to work.
Why they rescheduled you for next month is beyond me. Must be busy where you live.
Do they have to do a pre-buried line to your house? That is the only way it would make sense to me.
Otherwise I would think that running a new drop wouldn't mean much and would be done on the spot.
BTW techs do work on sundays in most areas I have seen. |

| Yeah, its an underground from my house to the drop... but he didn't have enough line from the pole to the house. Not to mention I don't think he wanted to climb the pole. LOL
I had service about 9 yrs ago but only T.V. LOL and since then the line was removed b/c of a driveway and a whole bunch of landscaping. |

| If you have an underground drop and it was removed because of a new Driveway they could have set you up for a prebury since they cannot lay a temp line over a driveway. In that case someone will come out between now and 4/1 and bore your driveway to get a line under it, then on 4/1 a tech will come out , hook up both ends and install the service. Although if there is a pole Im not sure why it couldnt just be an aerial drop.
As Rody stated, a reconnect simply means at some point in the history of cable someone at that address has had cable before. It doesnt matter what you need done, new drop all new outlets, it is all covered under ANY install order.
Sounds like a lazy tech BSing you or sounds like there is more to the story then you needed a new drop and they couldnt do it because it was a reconnect.
Such as it being underground and a driveway recently put in... -- CableFAQ.org/Technicians Unplugged
