Looks like the problem is with speedtest.net. Here's a trace to comcast.net.
I don't know much about DNS, Routing, IP's and the like but I though it was interesting the we both pinged the same URL but it resolved as a different IP address:

D:\Documents and Settings\Joe P>tracert www.comcast.net

It looks like we're all getting different IP's for comcast.net.

It's VERY likely that the pages are hosted on multiple boxes around the country for quicker access from all areas. Also makes for good backup if you have multiples of the same content in different places.

Why are our (West Palm Beach and vicinity) traceroutes not showing any "comcast.net" hops like RR Conductor and some others? Maybe Hob can explain?

Simple. The admin for the routers decided not to publish dns info.

All these IP addresses and routers are owned by Comcast.

2 31 ms 7 ms 8 ms 73.230.131.1
3 8 ms 8 ms 16 ms 68.85.230.85
4 9 ms 10 ms 8 ms 68.86.165.150
5 9 ms 9 ms 9 ms 68.86.165.97
6 17 ms 9 ms * 68.86.165.106

You can look it up for yourself by going to arin.net and plugging in the IP's.

Thanks! I had just looked them up and saw that but I wondered why they didn't resolve to an address. Now I know...thanks again!

I was wondering too, good info sovere1gnty! How goes the SpeedBoost Fastracer? I still can't figure our why we can't get it, and neither can Comcast.

Those of you that have PowerBoost in Jupiter, what part of Jupiter are you in?

Well as of this post things have slowed down quite a bit. No signs of powerboost at the moment. Here is my latest test:

From what it sounds like, I wonder if some of us have been sent the wrong config files, or maybe our modem are not configured or entered correctly on their system. What I mean is, if PowerBoost has been rolled out it should be allover in an area, shouldn't it?

I dont think powerboost is controlled at the config file or modem level.

I could be wrong, But I am not normally

Anyone in the same boat like me?

I've been like this for 2-3 days now... Tech support says there are problems in Jupiter, West Delray, North Palm Beach & West Boca...

Any idea?

I think this might be true,I did a number of speed tests tonight and the speeds were all in the 6000kbs range, then I just did the test below.

I wonder if our node is maxed out, I can't get past 6300 down. This is a pretty rural area though, so I kind of doubt it, but who knows.

Edit-Speeds right now are allover the place, 1500, 2300, 3800, 5800, 6200, back to 1800, crazy.
