Re: West Palm Beach FL. area / HSI transition

If it's any consolation speedtest.net reports my ISP as Comcast now

Yep, mine too John. In fact, we got the letter today from Comcast, our transition will be done be March 23rd-

»SLOW speeds in Mendocino County, NorCal for 2 days!

I scanned in a copy of the letter.

I have a 24.55 ip address and a whois still shows it registered to Adelphia. Plus all my tracerts go out Adelphia's, now Time Warners backbone.

edit: Just found another site that gives more detail on the ip block and the Organization name is Comcast Cable but the Customer name is still Adelphia. The record was updated January 31, 2007.

Confirmed today, transition will take place between march 23-26 in the palm beach county area.PowerBoost nor speed changes will not be availible at that time. You will just have your adelphia.net email account moved over to the comcast.net email. If your lucky no one will be using that same name over there.

If you live in the palm beach county area your speeds are 4000/512 not 4000/384

Thanks for the news. Honestly, I don't call it a transition until we get the speed increase.

The speeds are the same in PB county as the rest of the Adelphia areas. They never had a 512 upload,Adelphia provisions the caps higher than the advertised speeds, thus the higher test speeds.

Thanks for the heads-up. No email, nor any official notice has been received here (SW Boca).

It really would be most helpful to be able to try to plan around potential service disruptions, which official notice would allow.

Thanks again!

I think I have said before "Official" notices are as scary as hell.

As migration dates get nearer there are a number of "go, No go" decisions right up to an hour before the start.

An Official notification can cause chaos, and has.....
