This Boston Globe article was reported because of another guy I know in UTAH who also had issue with Comcast and like me has stated many times that this is not an isolated incident. His town is bringing UTOPIA.net in and has also brought QWEST as competition against Comcast which they fought and lobbied very hard to keep out.
Now that competition is in his town, Comcast won't be the only ball player in the area and it's only a matter of time before they get kicked out which is going to happen thanks to him.
And as Comcast keeps kicking people off for this "fuzzy policy" there are an ever-growing angry customer base (like me) that will not be silent and continue talking so either they will have to give in and upgrade their network or face a federal judge that will rip their one-sided contract apart and allow former subscribers to sue them until blowhards like Brian Roberts realizes not to shit where he eats.
You can't keep paying off people to look the other way. |

| I am a "bandwidth hog", been one for a while. I pay for what I get. If I'm paying $60/month for internet then I make sure I get my monies worth. If all you do is check your email then get dial up for $5/month.
Invisible caps are not heard of anymore. I say drop the whole issue and give us more upload speed!(after all I have lots of pictures I like to email to my 50+ cousins that I have left from the holidays:P) |

| He probably had comcrap before and knows the bull**** that Comcast puts there customers through like fluctuating download speed, horrible upload, crap TOS, monthly b/w caps, horrid customer support and many other issues comcast has. comcast is just ripping people off using an outdated network while all other major cable isp are offering at least 10/1 while comcrap is still on 8/768 and charging the most. also they are scamming there customers with fake speeds using powerboost and soon to be upload powerboost. watch how much people start claiming they have a 20/2 connection from comcast when upload powerboost is released in may. well we all know COMCRAP is the worst cable isp to have and its only going to get more worst in the future. |

nope, FIOS is coming to my area soon actually. We don't have it YET as comcast has fought tooth-and-nail to keep Verizon out but this time my town has won and they can't do anything about it.
FIOS is VERY FAST and what do you mean by affect me? Connection? Speed? Service? Honestly? Comparing DSL against Comcast I really didn't see much of a difference. Upload speed was the same, and downloading was a little quicker with Comcast but NOT by much.
And Comcast as a company is lying through their teeth and I as a paying customer HATE being lied to. I hate liars period. |

Couldn't have said it better myself. I had Cox Communications for 7 years and they could run circles against Comcast. Their service was way better, speeds were also great AND if the network was used a lot, they would initiate load balancing for everyone. NEVER ONCE did I ever have an issue with them. |
