 | Yea right! They give us 2 -$40 coupon when the device would cost us more than that. Not only that, tax is NOT INCLUDED. |

Why the rushed move to digital? What's wrong with Analog? How many of us really watch analog broadcasts anymore anyway? Most of us are using Satellite, Cable or OTA Digital signals....and the people who are still using analog will eventually have to upgrade when the analog broadcasters can no longer survive in the marketplace and have to go digital...why is government strong-arming OK in this case but not others?...because we need to stimulate the economy by promoting yet more mindless spending by the consumers?
You wanna give away vouchers, how about a $40 coupon to a health club for our collective lard-filled ass? |

| reply to coupon Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of when these boxes will, or if they will ever become available in the first place. They mention $50-$70 each, and forget the coupon, I'll pay that now. Circuit City, Best Buy, Wal Mart, NewEgg, ect... Don't offer any such device, other than PC based ATSC tuners. I wan't a standalone box! Who even makes them.
The Perfect Government Scam, $40 off vaporware!
Just show me where the beast is sold, at $50-$70ea, so I can go buy one now. |

I bought one last week at circuit city, hooked it up to my "old" CRT television and it works great. Also works great with any projector if you have one. Samsung makes the only ones that I know of (model DTB-H260F). BUT, if your televison does not have a COMPONENT input (i.e. the blue, green, and red plugs) or an HDMI input don't bother with these boxes, the box offers component (the yellow plug) and s-video outputs but it will squeeze the 16:9 picture into the 4:3 frame making it look awful. The box also has a optical audio output for digital 5.1 audio, but also has the red, white rca output. |

Well if you have an old CTR you need the box to covert that OTA analog to Digital that is why they handing it out. |
