That free "silver" tier is free because it's basically what you get from a game that has any multiplayer mode to complement the single player mode -- free multiplayer between PCs.

Gold tier -- if they're not going to add more decent games soon (besides Halo 2), $50 is like paying for another PC game anyway. One that most players will have already finished anyway on their console.

This should've waited until Halo 3 was released on XBox360 with a much sooner PC release.
