Re: Wimax expansion targeting areas where Wimax is least needed

WiMax will be an EVDO/HSDPA replacement when it is ready to do the following:

1. Become mobile WiMax (i.e. perform handoffs between WiMax sites)
2. Interoperate with EVDO/HSDPA/WiFi for handoffs (WiMax is more sparce than HSDPA, and doesn't handoff to anything currently)
3. Build true mobile handsets.

I do agree that Sprint should be 'picking the low hanging fruit' where they can get the biggest bang for the buck.

I would personally only use a service like this if I new that the areas I needed to use it were completely covered, and WiMax had failover to 1x/EVDO or EDGE/HSDPA where there wasn't coverage. For $55/month, I don't think I'm asking too much.
