Migration to RR - Northeast Ohio?Does anyone know when my Adelphia will migrate to RR? Reason why I am asking - I have a new pc running Vista, and when checking out the help.rr.com/vistasupport site, it states that their Security package isn't compatible at this time. My 90-day trial of WLiveOneCare will expire by the 1st part of June. Thanks for any info. |

So if their security suite is not compatible with vista yet, what will the migration do for you? it will still be the same old security suite. Go to » avast.com and download their AV, it's free, fast and fun. One of the best I have seen and compatible with vista. |

I was just transitioned a few minutes ago. Now I'm officially a Road Runner subscriber. |

Just changed too...
Your IP address is... 76.190.252.132
Your hostname appears to be... cpe-76-190-252-132.neo.res.rr.com |

The migration for my area happened within the last hour or so. Now the IP address belongs to Roadrunner. Although they also changed the speeds, increasing the download while decreasing the upload speeds. |

is this a failed firmware upgrade?

In short, no. Just the drops in sync and failure to communicate out during the transition while different pieces of equipment were going up/down. |

I just got switched over to Road Runner earlier today. However, my connection has been barely functional since then. Some webpages (like google) work fine, while others (like this one) either take 5 minutes to load or simply time out. I did an nslookup on my IP and I've definitely been switched... the only thing I can see that's out of line is the connection-specific DNS suffix is now blank whereas before it was "clvdoh.adelphia.net" or whatever. I've tried specifying the domain name with my router (neo.rr.com) and tried connecting without the router, but neither seemed to work. Any ideas? Is this a problem that I should just wait out? Thanks. |

LadyL, Don't know if this helps... I just tried to change my email and it appears to have been taken care of already. Mine was something@adelphia.net and now it is something@roadrunner.com
I didn't change any settings to do this. I just logged in at rr.com, send myself a test email from adelphia to roadrunner and it showed up in thunderbird on its own. |

Tried to do the same thing as you I can login just fine to the main RR portal. Next to mail button says [4] ---- no. of e-mails.[i guess] But, as of yet, can't login to mail. |

Mine is still xxxx@adelphia.net. - according to webmail.adelphia.net...which shows the RR thing in the upper left corner. Haven't tried that rr.com site yet. When should I change my homepage? It has been adelphia.net since 2000. |

I've changed my homepage to the rr.com one...it shows 1 new email...have no idea where to find that...I click on the webmail tab - hate tabs! - anyway, BTW, I am logged into the webmail, but it shows nothing at all! I can't customize anything on that homepage...hate all that stuff...liked the way adelphia had their homepage setup better! Can't even use their (rr) security program cuz I have Vista! |

All mail i've sent to roadrunner.com has also been sent to my old adelphia mail box = so nuthin to worry bout for now. Still no clue how to actually access it with existing user/pass. The customize features workin' fine here.....thats strage yours is problomatic. That security center stuff [IMO] , is nuttin more than bloatware. There's some many alterative freebie apps avail that do exactly the same thing. |

this IS strange....
I reset my password at the RR site. That PW change also reset my adelphia.net PW.
I can still login as usuall at the adelphia site. [with the new PW] & all messages including PW change notifications from RR is being seen.
I get error wrong user/pass whan trying to access the RR mail. I'm entering someone@roadrunner.com / new password |

You don't put the @roadrunner for your screen name.
Just someone/password |

That is strange.
I just did it again entering just my name(no @) and password and it accepted it.
ok try this, on the www.rr.com page top left there is a login box, try to log in, see what happens. |

Okay so RR understands your name and password, so when going to webmail entering chillycat and your password "should" work.
Does your mail work if you use Outlook or the like ? |

Maybe I should have clarified that earlier. I can receive roadrunner.com email at that site so I presumed that was the way it was supposed to be? |

Mine does work with Mozilla with no changes. If anyone is interested I think the settings for email programs are as follows In- pop-server.roadrunner.com Out- smtp-server.roadrunner.com I read that info somewhere a few weeks ago, but have not confirmed it to be accurate since I needed no changes to email today. |
